Aptly named “It’s a Journey”… this one really feels like it has been a reflection of my life...

It was originally a print I never really liked. I use to add splashes of colour to it over the years to see if I could brighten it up and make it better, but it didn’t really help. So I decided to paint over it….

Since then it has taken about 12 different paths, been flipped upside down and then back again. It has been finished at least 7 times (or so I thought!) Only to then strip away half the painting back to bare canvas and trying again…

The result in my eyes is… well … honestly I’m still not 100%, BUT I felt the whisper of God tell me “STOP, take a step back and to capture the moment, because it’s a journey”!!

I wrestled with this, but felt He was right (as He always is) and as I stand back and reflect… to me it is a “perfectly imperfect” reminder that life is a journey! It’s a process! It’s not always easy, it has challenges, we question we doubt, then when we think things are good and done life suddenly flips on its head and things are stripped away… AGAIN!

BUT, He is here, and He is using it all! He is doing a beautiful deep work. He is healing, removing, refining and restoring. It’s often frustrating, painful, challenging, and overwhelming… and just when we think it’s done… it’s often not !! When we think we’re too far gone, it’s too hard, not good enough and over it, He wonderfully takes it all and goes to work to do a beautiful work in us.

He is painting and creating something beautiful in each of us! You are His masterpiece!! So don’t give up! It’s a process! It’s a journey! But He is with us every step of the way.
